About the site
Hola amigos. This site came about when some years ago, aged thirty, I took a sabbatical from my London city job to complete a 10 week Photography course in St Martins Art School, London, followed by a five month adventure around Central & South America. I promised my friends I would upload my pictures when I got back. It took a while but here they are. I stuck my journals up there too… when I was planning my trip I was keen to hear other people’s stories, so here’s mine. And while I was at it, I put a few other pics up there too.
All photographs on the site are taken with an old school Canon A1 Camera I picked up in a Notting Hill junk store, using either a 50mm, F1.8 lens or a 135mm F3.5 lens. Most of the travel shots are taken on Fuji Velvia slide film or Fuji Reala. The B&W shots are mostly taken on Ilford FP4 or HP5. There’s something about the romance of film…
